ST. PETERSBURG, FL – Fresh from her Oscar nomination for Best Actress in the blockbuster film Wicked, multi-award-winning artist Cynthia Erivo will join The Florida Orchestra and Music Director Michael Francis for two special concerts, the orchestra announced today. Performances are May 2, 2025 at 8 pm at the Mahaffey Theater in St. Petersburg and May 3 at 8 pm at Ruth Eckerd Hall in Clearwater. Tickets go on sale exclusively to TFO subscribers Feb. 19, and the general public Feb. 25, for both concerts.

Known for her powerhouse performances, Cynthia Erivo is up for an Academy Award® for her gravity-defying portrayal of Elphaba in the musical film Wicked, which has received 10 Oscar nominations. Erivo has won Tony® and Grammy® Awards for her Broadway debut role as Celie in The Color Purple, and a Daytime Emmy® Award. That puts her in the running to be the youngest-ever winner of a rare EGOT (Emmy, Grammy, Oscar, Tony). Since she made her screen debut in 2018, Erivo has been nominated for three Oscars and four Golden Globe Awards.

Cynthia Erivo with The Florida Orchestra features the global star of stage and screen in an evening of unparalleled artistry as she gives voice to music made famous by the greatest female singers of all time. Michael Francis conducts both nights of extraordinary performances.
