SPCA Tampa Bay Offering Half Off Adoption Fees to Help Pets Find Forever Homes
Empowering community members to make a difference in the lives of animals
Largo, FL (April 15, 2025) – SPCA Tampa Bay is encouraging community members to consider changing the life of an animal with “one small act of kindness” by adopting a dog, cat, or small animal and giving them their second chance. In effort to help adoptable pets in our community find their forever homes, SPCA Tampa Bay is offering half off adoption fees for all dogs, cats, small animals, reptiles, and livestock from Wednesday, April 16 through Sunday, April 20.
This adoption promotion was inspired by SPCA Tampa Bay’s recent visit from Extraordinary World with Jeff Corwin and The Brady Hunter Foundation. Extraordinary World with Jeff Corwin, hosted by Emmy®-winning conservationist Jeff Corwin, spotlights everyday people who are making an extraordinary impact on the world through animal advocacy, wildlife conservation, youth empowerment and aiding those dealing with food insecurity issues. The series highlights the people driving positive change and showcases how one small act of kindness can have a dramatic effect on every community and the world.
“The mission here at SPCA Tampa Bay very much fits within the wheelhouse of what we want to do. Our mission is to highlight wilds, nature, animal conservation, stories, animal advocacy stories like abandoned animals, getting new homes or forever homes, and that human interest uplift stories. That combination is that triad of important stories that many of us have a connection to,” explained Jeff Corwin, host of Extraordinary World with Jeff Corwin. “I can't remember a time in my life where I didn't have a powerful connection to animals, to nature. And that very much is the inspiration for our new series, along with our partners The Brady Hunter Foundation. I believe we can't protect animals if we don't have a connection with them, a passion for them.”
In addition to domesticated pets, SPCA Tampa Bay is committed to the protection of all animals, including injured and displaced wildlife. In collaboration with local partners, their team provides medical attention and rehabilitation services for possums, blue jays, squirrels, rabbits, and more animals native to Florida.
