Pinellas County Urban League to host 8th Annual Whitney M Young, Jr. Diversity & Empowerment Luncheon
The Pinellas County Urban League will host the 8th Annual Whitney M. Young, Jr. Diversity and Empowerment Luncheon on Friday, February 25th, 2022 from 11:30 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. at Banquet Masters, 13355 ~ 49th Street North, Clearwater, Florida. We are happy to announce our 2022 Honorees as follows:
- Carlo Franzblau Board Chair and Co-Founder Sing Out and Read
- Kanika Tomalin Deputy Mayor and City Administrator City of St. Petersburg
- Anthony Holloway Chief of Police City of St. Petersburg
The Whitney M. Young, Jr. Luncheon is held in honor of the former National Urban League leader, who for many years, led the Urban League into a position of significant power and influence throughout the world by helping thousands of people struggling against discrimination. This luncheon has become the Pinellas County Urban League’s anchor event in celebration of Black History Month.
There are several excellent opportunities for businesses and individuals to participate. Funds generated from the event will go directly to support the Pinellas County Urban League’s programs that are needed to assist the underprivileged in our community.
The Pinellas County Urban League is celebrating its 45th year of IMPACT in the Tampa Bay community. Our services include GED completion, career readiness, job placement, small business, youth leadership and mentorship, crime prevention and family reunification, physical and mental health, seniors job training, utility payments, and home weatherization assistance.
