Staying safe starts with knowing what to look out for. That’s why the Council of Neighborhood Associations (CONA) is hosting a FREE Personal Safety and Threat Awareness Workshop with Weapon Brand on March 26, 2025, at 7:00 PM (Doors open at 6:30 PM) at the Sunshine Center (330 5th St N, St. Petersburg, FL 33701).

We all go about our daily lives expecting things to be fine, but the truth is that unexpected situations can arise at any time. Learning how to recognize potential threats and take steps to protect yourself can make all the difference. This event is open to everyone—whether you’re a CONA member, a St. Pete resident, or just someone who wants to feel more prepared and aware in different environments.

What We’ll Cover:

• How to recognize stalking behavior and avoid dangerous situations before they escalate
• How to increase situational awareness in public places, at work, and even at home
• Developing a mindset to spot trouble before it happens and respond effectively
• Safe travel habits, including walking to your car, using ride-share services, and navigating unfamiliar areas
• How to use technology and apps to enhance your personal security

This isn’t about living in fear—it’s about being smart, prepared, and confident in any situation. Whether you work late, travel alone, or just want to be more aware of your surroundings, these skills are useful for everyone.
