Leadership St. Pete 2023 Class Project announcement

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Leadership St. Pete® selects Allendale Equity & Justice Center for its 2023 Class Project

Leadership St. Pete's® 54th class of leaders will renovate former classrooms to create space for the

Allendale Equity & Justice Center

St. Petersburg, Florida (Feb. 28, 2023) - The Leadership St. Pete® (LSP) Class of 2023 is proud to announce the launch of its class project with Allendale Equity & Justice Center. The LSP Class of 2023 will create flexible, technology-supported workspaces for local nonprofit organizations through a project called “Conscious Collaboration.”

The LSP Class of 2023 plans to create offices for nonprofit leaders to work, collaborate and provide services to the community. With LSP’s assistance, these former preschool classrooms will be converted into collaborative spaces for nonprofits to exchange ideas, build partnerships, coordinate rapid responses to emerging or immediate community needs, and plan actions that solve social issues.

More than 30 local nonprofit organizations, including Girls Rock St. Pete, PTSD Awareness, and Found Family Collective, already use the outdated classrooms to host meetings, workshops, and events. Once renovated, the rooms will be flexible and technology-supported spaces that many nonprofits use as they positively impact the local community.

The LSP Class of 2023 will complete the renovations by May 2023. Once completed, Allendale Equity & Justice Center will be the first local nonprofit that provides collaborative spaces for change-makers. It will also become an incubator for justice work in Tampa Bay.

The “Conscious Collaboration” project will be made possible through donations and a series of fundraising events. The Class Project culminates with the LSP Class of 2023 completing a hands-on day of service.

Donate to the Bay Area Chamber Foundation to support the LSP Class of 2023 Conscious Collaboration project. Both cash and in-kind donations are needed to complete the project, and sponsorships are available.
