Tall Ships America (TSA) is proud to partner with the city of St Petersburg to co-host a magnificent fleet of historic vessels at Port St Pete.

On the morning of March 31st, we hope to offer two thousand of the district’s middle school students from 19 county schools the chance to step aboard the tall ships. To do so, we need to raise $10 per child. If we raise over the $20,000 needed to meet this first goal, we will apply all additional funds towards discounting tickets for those students who visit the ships during the weekend with a parent.

By the end of February, Tall Ships America (TSA), in collaboration with the Tampa Bay Times, will deliver a Newspaper in Education supplement to each of the seventeen thousand middle school students in Pinellas County. This is a recently reworked Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Math (STEAM) curriculum which will meet many of the district and state requirements in these subject areas. Teachers have enthusiastically said “yes” to using this publication to teach about the six ships participating in the weekend of events and to explore the hands-on experiences they will learn from when they visit Port St Pete.

To donate, simply go to the TSA website (https://tallshipsamerica.org/donate/) In the box named “Donation in the name of:” please enter St Pete Kids on Ships. TSA is a non-profit organization so your donation is tax deductible to the extent permitted by law. When we email you to acknowledge your gift, we will explain the many ways we can recognize it, if you wish, which include, mention in the curriculum newspaper (closes 2/20/23,) logo/name inclusion on Tall Ships St. Pete website, inclusion in 4 print ads in the Weekender section of the Tampa Bay Times, on-site Signage at Port St. Pete, name inclusion in one press release, outlining the various activities, programming and sponsors, a minimum of one post on Tall Ships St. Pete social media channels.

Of course, if you wish to see the tall ships yourself a great way to do so is to volunteer at: https://tallshipsstpete.com/get-involved/.
