Into 2022 with the St. Petersburg Black History Bike Tour
The St. Petersburg (FL) Black History Bike Tour continues stronger than ever into 2022 and is achieving results beyond my wildest imagination. It's free. Here’s just a few outcomes:
- Opening eyes with the knowledge of Black history,
- Creating new networks and connections,
- Increasing revenue for Black owned businesses,
- Adding donations to museums,
- Bringing donors forward for new community projects,
- So much more……
It has been heartwarming as these outcomes are revealed. A huge shout out to those of you who are contributors and that is every one of you who have taken the tour.
For those who have not taken the tour, look at what opportunities lie ahead.
We’ve learned a lot since launching August 2021. We’ve increased our tour maximum to 20 people to help meet demand. Private companies have signed on to offer this tour to employees as part of their DE&I initiative. I’m thankful for the volunteers who have come forward and I couldn’t do these tours without Pat, Kevin or Cherilynn. Gratefully the tour has been very well received and some have even gone as far to say it is “life changing.” ABC News called it "Eye Opening."

How do I tell others?? (I would really appreciate it.)
- Simple. Just forward this email to your friends and family near and far.
- Print the attached flyer and post it at your place of business, your condo common room or any place the public will see it.
- I’ve attached a couple of photos to detach and promote on your FB page , Instagram or any other social media.
- Does your company have a DE&I initiative and engage employees in various activities? Often companies are looking for activities. Would you let your DE&I person know of the bike tour?
- Get your own group together of up to 20 people and let’s schedule a private tour.
My motivation to offer this free tour is stronger than ever when I see the results. The demand is strong and "word of mouth" is the most common way people hear of it. I am very appreciative to each of you are spreading the good word about the tour.
