ST. PETERSBURG, FLA. (November 21, 2023) – HCA Florida Northside Hospital is excited to announce the appointment of local attorney Oxalis B. Garcia to the hospital’s Board of Trustees. She will join other community members who serve on the board to advise hospital leadership by following the standards set by The Joint Commission, the hospital accrediting agency.
Oxalis Garcia is a Puerto Rican native who is licensed to practice law in Puerto Rico, Maryland and Florida. She is fluent in Spanish and is a Florida Certified Family Law Mediator, Puerto Rico Certified Mediator and Family Law Guardian ad Litem. Since 2006, she has helped clients with a wide range of family law, injury and immigration issues. Her professional focus also includes the Middle District Federal Court in Florida, where she helps families reunite. She is President-Elect of the Florida Hispanic Bar Association, which currently has over 6,340 attorneys, who are members of the Florida Bar and who identify as Hispanic/Latinx.
