HCA Florida Northside Hospital recognizes American Heart Month

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. (February 1, 2024Today is the first day of American Heart Month. This is a time when everyone especially women are encouraged to focus on their cardiovascular health.

Geralyn had gone to the ER at an HCA sister facility due to the rupture of an aortic aneurysm. Due to the situation, she was transferred to HCA Florida Northside Hospital where Dr. Owen and the surgical team were waiting for her arrival.

“How blessed was I! Everyone during my stay at Northside was phenomenal from the nursing, housekeeping, rehab, x-ray. It was an extraordinary experience. As a former hospital CEO and retired nurse, I was impressed with HCA Florida having an excellent big picture thought as it relates to the benefits of a system of wide network facilities by getting me transferred from over 2 hours away to the emergent care I needed. Their immediate response in getting me into surgery quickly contributed to saving my life as time was of the essence. Thank you Dr. Owen and thank you HCA Northside!”
