HCA Florida Northside Hospital hosts lecture: New & exciting innovations in heart care!
ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. (Mar 6, 2023) – HCA Florida Northside Hospital is bringing timely health topics to our community, allowing participants to meet medical experts, during a lunch and learn format.
Advanced technology in interventional cardiology is poised to improve the treatment of patients with cardiovascular disease. Today many of these procedures can be accomplished through minimally invasive techniques for patients with structural cardiac issues involving the heart’s valves, walls chambers and muscles including heart failure, coronary artery disease, hypertrophic cardiomyopathy and congenital heart disease.
Join HCA Florida Northside Hospital and Dr. Saurabh Sanon, interventional cardiologist, will explain the latest innovations in structural cardiac interventions. This will include Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacement (TAVR) a revolutionary alternative to open-heart surgery for severe aortic stenosis, Transcatheter Mitral Valve Repair (TMVR), a cutting edge alternative to open heart surgery for mitral regurgitation and Left Atrial Appendage Closure PFO/ASD Closure, a first of its kind, alternative to long term Warfarin therapy for stroke risk reduction in patients with non-valvular atrial fibrillation.
