(Largo, FL) – Creative Pinellas is excited to announce details for Arts Annual 2023: Discovery, one of the most anticipated arts events of the year featuring over 75 artists, filmmakers, performers, and writers. And, for the first time, performing arts, film, and literature will be integrated into the Arts Annual exhibition itself for the full run.

“The Arts Annual is a one-of-a-kind event, and each year it gets better and better with so much to offer,” said Creative Pinellas CEO Barbara St. Clair. “It is a destination event and gives us the opportunity to showcase Creative Pinellas grantees in every genre which because of the excellence of their work has become a museum quality exhibition. It is also a great celebration that gives life to the claim that we are the Arts Coast and a wonderful event to support.”

Now in its sixth year, Arts Annual kicks off with Creative Pinellas’ only fundraiser of the year, THE PARTY on Thursday, November 9, followed by their first family-friendly FREE Arts Festival called ARTSventure on Saturday, November 11. The annual fundraiser helps Creative Pinellas to fulfill its mission of facilitating a vibrant and sustainable Pinellas County arts community as an arts and cultural destination. The Arts Annual exhibition will be on view through December 31, 2023. The gallery hours are Wednesday through Sunday, from 10 AM to 5 PM with holiday hours. 

“Our Saturday, November 11 event is new this year, and will be a true Super Saturday at Pinewood Park. ARTSventure should be off the charts with 30+ professional craft artists and fine artists in our first arts market along with terrific music, crafts, food, and live performances,” said Creative Pinellas Senior Director of Arts and Cultural Programming Beth Gelman. “Artisan Days will also be happening at Heritage Village, and special activities will be taking place in the brand-new Children’s Majeed Discovery Garden at the Florida Botanical Gardens. Truly something for everyone!”

Creative Pinellas’ THE PARTY will celebrate the official opening of Arts Annual 2023: DISCOVERY. This one-night event is Creative Pinellas’ annual fundraiser. Guests will enjoy a cash bar with light bites, captivating art, and create memorable moments as they delight in music and activities throughout the evening while knowing they are uplifting the Arts and Culture community of Pinellas County. Discover the Art, the People, the Experience in the Arts Coast!

ARTS ANNUAL 2023: ARTSventure

Saturday, November 11 | 10 AM - 4 PM

Free to the public.

ARTSventure is a FREE family-friendly Arts festival. Beginning with a special Veteran’s Day commemoration, the event continues with an arts and crafts market, live performances, gallery exhibition, craft activities, food, giveaways, and more!

ARTS ANNUAL 2023: Artist Talks

November 18 - December 17 | Saturday & Sundays at 1pm

Free admission, parking, and giveaways.

The 2023 Arts Annual continues with artist talks throughout the exhibition run. These opportunities allow audiences to celebrate the artists in the Arts Coast while learning more about the artists and their processes. Full details will be announced soon. 

This year’s presenting sponsor is the Tampa Bay Rays / Tampa Bay Rowdies. Creative Pinellas has sponsorship opportunities for individuals and organizations to help support Pinellas Arts and Culture. Sponsors can be a part of an unforgettable arts and cultural experience as a sponsor of Arts Annual. Sponsors receive marketing and publicity leading up to the Arts Annual and throughout the exhibition on view to the public in the gallery and online from November 9 through December 31, 2023. ABOUT CREATIVE PINELLAS

Art Uplifts Humanity

We Uplift Art and Artists All Across Pinellas County. Creative Pinellas is a 501(c)(3) arts and cultural organization. It was established in 2011 as the designated Local Arts Agency for Pinellas County. 

Creative Pinellas works closely with Visit St. Pete/Clearwater to promote Pinellas County as an arts and cultural destination, and manages a 10,000 square foot gallery (former art museum) on the Pinewood Park campus where it also offers programs in partnership with the Florida Botanical Gardens and Heritage Village. The organization has awarded grants to over 500 artists and arts organizations, sent over 200 artists and arts leaders to the Co-Starters business program, provided grants to hundreds of Pinellas County youth to attend arts summer camp, partnered with the Tampa Bay Rays baseball team on an artists’ print series, with Pinellas County Public Works and the Leaman CRA on on mural programs, and with area foundations on arts and mental health.

 

The organization’s mission is to foster and sustain a vibrant, inclusive, and collaborative arts community across Pinellas County. They provide support, connection, and opportunities to artists, organizations, and the public in order to grow and sustain PInellas County as an internationally recognized arts and cultural destination.

 

As the County’s Local Arts Agency, Creative Pinellas and the programs they deliver are funded by the Pinellas County Board of County Commissioners, Visit St Pete/Clearwater, the State of Florida, Department of State, Division of Cultural Affairs, the National Endowment for the Arts, the Pinellas Community Foundation and by sales of the State of the Arts specialty license plate in Pinellas County
