Brookwood Florida is licensed as a therapeutic group home for 40 adolescent girls (age 13-20) in the St. Petersburg facility. Residents are placed by Department of Children & Families, from all parts of Florida, after removal from abusive and/or neglectful home settings or placed privately by parents experiencing stressful parent-child relationships. Brookwood also provides care for a small population of young adult women rescued form homelessness. Program goals focus on independent living preparation, i.e. education program, employability skills, money management, and personal problem-solving.
