Admiral Farragut Academy is a private, college-prep, boarding and day school which serves students in PreK-12th grade and is located in sunny St. Petersburg, Florida. Our Upper School, which starts in 8th grade, is also known worldwide for its boarding program and Naval Science program’s military structure. Farragut also offers other signature academic programs: Aviation, Scuba, Marine Science, and Sailing. Farragut has a longstanding tradition of building leaders who will impact the world. That tradition grows every year with each graduating class. With students from around the world, the country, and several local towns and neighborhoods, we take pride in what our global community on campus is all about. But we’re not just about building leaders. — We’re about building a family. — A place where everyone supports each other. The combination of invaluable academic and life lessons learned at Farragut create what our alumni call “The Farragut Experience.” Farragut has always prepared graduates to be critical thinkers, ready to conceive of technology that has yet to be invented and succeed in careers that do not currently exist. To that end, Farragut has graduated two of the twelve moon-walking astronauts, Alan Shepard, Class of ’41, and Charlie Duke, Class of ’53. Charlie is famous for saying that the word astronaut didn’t exist when he started at Farragut, but the education here prepared him for anything!
