Women’s Chamber Program Luncheon
Thursday, January 16, 2025 (11:30 AM - 1:00 PM) (EST)
Description
You're Invited to Our January Luncheon: A Special Presentation by Helen R. Murray
Join us for our first luncheon of 2025, where we’re excited to welcome Helen R. Murray, award-winning director, playwright, and Producing Artistic Director of American Stage. Helen will be sharing her inspiring journey in the arts, including her work as the former Executive Producer of the Aurora Fox Arts Center and Artistic Director of the Hub Theatre.
Helen’s original plays have been produced at renowned venues like the Kennedy Center and the Jewish Community Center of Northern Virginia. She has been nominated for numerous awards, including a Helen Hayes Award for her co-adaptation of Wonderful Life, and her play Abominable earned a national Steinberg New Play Award nomination.
At this luncheon, Helen will be promoting her latest play, Sisters, Stories, and Self-Discovery: A Modern Fairytale of Courage and Magic. This heartwarming tale celebrates sisterhood as three sisters embark on their own journeys of self-discovery after being abandoned. As each sister follows her path—Albienne heading East to prove herself, Beatrix seeking adventure in the West, and Carmen finding comfort at home—their stories intertwine with lessons, challenges, and a bit of magic. This beautiful exploration of courage, life’s twists and turns, and the power of sisterhood is one you won’t want to miss! Don’t miss out on this incredible opportunity to connect with fellow members and hear from a true leader in the arts. We look forward to seeing you there!
