Project HERO Honor Ride (Bicycling Event Celebrating Veterans)

Project HERO celebrates, rehabiltates and supports Vetrans and First Responders through bicycling. The Florida Honor Ride is one of the largest Veteran events in the Tampa Bay Area. We have routes availalbe for all types of cyclists: 62 Miles, 40 Miles, 20 Miles and a 5 Mile "Cruiser Ride".
Go to www.weareprojecthero.com to register. $60 Registration for the 62, 40 & 20 mile routes. $50 Registration for the 5 mile "Cruiser Ride". All riders will recieve a free BBQ Lunch from M&M BBQ and Project HERO cycling socks.
Join over 500 riders and volunteers early on Saturday mornning to celebrate and honor our local Veterans. (February 3rd) Opening Ceremonies will begin @ 8:00am and you'l enjoy an enormous US Flag suspended by the St. Petersburg Fire Departments Ladder Trucks as the sun rises to the east. We'll have the Pinellas Sheriff's Office present the colors, the National Athem and then the Gibbs High School Drumline will perform and fire everyone up. The 62, 40 and 20 mile routes will head out from Tropicana Field and then head north on 1st Avenue North before then moving onto the Pinellas Trail. There are rest stops out on the course and SAG support. The 5 Mile "Cruiser Ride" (Sponsored by WellMed/Optum) and will have it's own Opening Ceremony. This ride will be entirely on the Pinellas Trail, heading west up to Gibbs High School and then returning to Tropicana Field.
