How To Have Difficult Conversations

Thursday, November 17, 2022 (5:45 PM - 6:45 PM) (EST)

Description

Marcus A. Brooks, Executive Director, The Center for Health Equity, will lead this discussion. “Whatever gifts you are believed to have are not yours. They were gifted to you for a finite amount of time to be passed on and used in service of others”. These are words that Center for Health Equity Executive Director, Marcus Allen Brooks repeats to himself every morning. In his role, Marcus works to envision, strategize and ultimately mobilize a multi-discipline, multi-sector experience to advance racial equity and improve the overall health of our community. Mr. Brooks is a passionate advocate for this work bringing over 15 years of experience in the non-profit world with a wide range of disciplines from racial equity facilitation, to fundraising, board development and collaborative partnership cultivation.

This program is sponsored by BPW/St. Petersburg-Pinellas, which is the local chapter of BPW/FL. Founded in 1919 at the national and state levels, and in 1966 at the local level, BPW crosses generations, occupations and political parties. BPW's mission is to achieve equity for all women in the workplace through advocacy, education, and information. Program luncheons are generally held on the first Thursday of each month. Discussions such as this one are generally held every other month on the third Thursday of the month after work.
