Help Shape St. Pete’s Next Creative District — Join the St. Pete Cre8 Community Charrette

A new kind of neighborhood is taking shape in St. Petersburg, and the community is invited to help design it. From November 17–20, St. Pete Cre8 will host a four-day, open-to-all design charrette to shape the vision for a future 28-acre “Creators’ District” just west of the Warehouse Arts District.

Each day from 4–7 PM, community members, artists, makers, chefs, and local innovators are invited to stop by the future site at 855 28th Street South to share ideas, explore possibilities, and collaborate with planners and project partners. The experience blends meaningful engagement with St. Pete culture — including live music, chef pop-ups, and artist showcases — alongside guided design sessions that will help shape the district’s development framework.

This interactive planning event marks a historic moment: 100 years after John Nolen’s 1925 city plan, St. Pete Cre8 is reviving the spirit of creative, sustainable, people-focused design. The Iafrate family, owners of the property, aim to build a neighborhood rooted in imagination, collaboration, and a true sense of place — and they want residents to help design it from the ground up.
