St. Petersburg Museum of History

For 100 years, the St. Petersburg Museum of History has brought visitors face-to-face with artifacts and stories that provide a snapshot of a Florida much different from our own. From the only working replica of the Benoist airboat – the world’s first airliner – that made aviation history in St. Pete, to the world's largest collection of autographed baseballs, the Museum of History helps generations of Floridians comprehend their history and recognize the achievements of those who came before them. It all started in a small hurricane-flooded building on the Pier Approach, and now, the oldest museum in Pinellas County is on the eve of a major expansion that will make it a centerpiece of the Pier District. There are countless Florida stories to be told, and the St. Petersburg Museum of History dedicates the next 100 years to sharing them.
