Responsibilities: 

  • - Greet visitors and shoppers and provide appropriate assistance with an upbeat attitude.  

  • - Train all volunteers to distribute information to tourists and be knowledgeable about maps, brochures and general information. 

  • - Keep up with city updates and events. 

  • - Maintain knowledge of inventory. 

  • - Coordinate with Visitors Center/St. Pete Store team to maintain cohesive unit. 

  • - Participate in regular area knowledge tours with the visitors center staffwhich may include the Downtown Looper, new restaurants, museums, and volunteer celebrations.  

  • - Attend events promoting The Visitors Center/The St. Pete Store on occasion (pop-ups). 

  • - Create and maintain spreadsheets for various projects as requested. 

  • - Perform light cleaning/dusting, organizing, computer research, etc.  

  • - Answer phones/use cash register/copier/postage machine. 

  • - Record member referrals & develop/maintain member referral system. 

  • - Coordinate special requests for group assistancesuch as welcome bags. 

  • - Coordinate inventory of collateral such as visitors guide distributions, including call chains. 

  • - Problem solve with individual issues as they arise  

  • - Assist members with opportunities to promote through visitors center activities. 

  • - Assist staff members as available. 

  • - Other duties as needed. 

Requirements: 

  • - High School Diploma – AA preferred and/or 2+ years of customer service or retail experience. 

  • - Possess strong verbal communication skills.  Foreign language fluency a plus. 

  • - Reliable transportation 

  • - Ability to successfully manage volunteers. 

  • - Attention to detail and deadlines. 

  • - Ability to perform multiple job functions and tasks. 

  • - Experience and proficiency with Microsoft Office suite. 

  • - Friendly, positive manner and enjoyment of contact with individuals of all backgrounds.  

  • - Responsible, outgoing, and willing to take initiative.  

  • - Ability to work alone or without supervision. 

  • - Basic math and writing skillset

Needed Availability/Scheduling : 10:00 - 5:00 two days a week

Preferred Experience : 2+ years of customer service or retail experience.
