As the 2025 hurricane season begins, the St. Petersburg Area Chamber of Commerce invites you to join us for Resilience Planning: Before the Storm — a timely and practical event focused on helping local businesses prepare for, withstand, and recover from major disruptions.

Hosted at the stunning SkyBeach Resort, this event features a powerful firsthand account from the SkyBeach management team on their journey of resilience and recovery following Hurricanes Helene and Milton. Hear how they adapted, rebuilt, and emerged stronger—lessons any business can learn from.

Event Highlights:

    Connect with fellow business leaders and community partners over lunch.

  • 12:30 PM – 2:00 PM | Enterprise Resilience Management Workshop
    Led by Scott Pickens, this interactive session will guide participants through a hands-on exercise to assess their current resilience strategies and identify areas for improvement.

  • 2:00 PM – 2:45 PM | Case Study Panel Discussion: Resilience in Action
    Sponsored and moderated by Duke Energy, this panel features real stories from local businesses who successfully navigated disruptions in business including storm recovery and the impacts of COVID by having solid plans in place.

  • 2:45 PM – 3:30 PM | Hurricane Resources for Small Businesses
    Learn about tools, funding, and emergency planning resources from Pinellas County Emergency Management and Duke Energy, with a focus on helping small businesses access support before and after a disaster.

Presented by Duke Energy, this event is part of their commitment to supporting community resilience by providing small businesses with the tools and programs they need to weather the storm—literally and figuratively.
