The Sports Council works closely with other sports-related organizations to provide assistance as needed. A top priority is continuing the traditional and specialized function of The Chambers sports activities.
The focuses of the Sports Council are:

Work with the Tampa Bay Rays, Lightning, Buccaneers and Storm as well as be the presenting sponsors and host of the Honda Grand Prix of St. Petersburg, St. Pete Bowl and the St. Anthony's Triathlon

In 2010 The Chamber will again host the VIP/Drivers Luncheon for Honda Grand Prix of St. Petersburg

In 2010 The Chamber will again host the "Welcon Back" Luncheon for the 2008 American League Champion Rays

Continue to promote and coordinate sponsorship and activities in relationship with the Dick Howser Trophy Foundation related to the presentation of The Dick Howser Trophy to college baseball's most outstanding player.
- Restablish the Governors Baseball Dinner
- Include the Dick Howser Trophy in the Ted Williams Hitters Hall of Fame and Museum located in Tropicana Field, home of the Tampa Bay Rays
- Host a rally with the Lightning and a breakfast with the Buccaneers.
- Provide marketing and promotional support to local sporting teams and events.
- Host special "town-hall meetings" for coaches and players of local sports teams prior to each season.
- Create and support new activities in St. Petersburg to draw attention to sports in the community.
- Support local teams with "Chamber Nights" and special Premier Circle Investors (PCI) gatherings
